It's in the bag!!!!!

Elegant beige patent bag ~ great size!
Vintage white patent leather clutch with chain.
Vintage olive green bag ~ so adorable!
Vintage fold over bag with snaps
Vintage Handbags by Aritina
I'll admit it ....I love bags!  Who doesn't?  Sometimes all you need to put the finishing touch on an outfit is a cute bag. The best part is they ALWAYS fit! No standing in the dressing room, trying to squeeze into the size I thought I was. Bad lighting, good lighting, it doesn't matter...the bag fits! Whoo Hoo !!!!  The best part about bags are they come back in style, some never go out of style. It's getting harder and harder to find good quality vintage bags, they have become a very popular collectible. This is where Aritina comes in!
Aritina has a wonderful collection of vintage bags to offer. She also designs her own bags too! Check out her fb page: facebook.com/aritinacollecton
Memere's Attic is very fortunate to have Aritina as one of their consignors. Come into the shop and see these darling bags for yourself!

Are you in the "Mooda" ?????

This weeks featured artist at Memere's Attic is Susan Haynes of Mooda Designs. Susan is a dear friend who is also extremely talented! Susan uses recycled,or rather, upcycled denim in her designs.  No detail is too small. All of the bags are fully lined with interior pockets for those pesky keys and cell phones that automatically drop to the bottom of your purse. She hand embroiders some and some have handmade fabric flowers.  Her creativity is not limited to bags alone. Crayon aprons, oyster roast aprons and bottle and can koozies are also in her repertoire!

Darling crayon apron for the budding artist!
Black denim bag with handmade flower and black velvet shoulder straps.

Denim bags in all shapes and sizes.

Shabby Chic Map Cabinet

A decoupaged map of SC on the front ~ just to let her know the road runs both ways!

Some vintage crescent moon shell earrings were added as well. (A crescent moon is on the state flag after all!)
The interior was left the seafoam green color for a little surprise inside
I have a dear friend (and neighbor) who is in the midst of moving to a new home. As she is starting her life over in a new and exciting city, I wanted her to be able to explore her new city and remember the way back home. I hope she will find many uses for this cabinet. I had a blast making it for her!

The Black Crane

Feathers encased in glass with pod beads.

This copper chain is all hand done and filled with semi-precious stones.

So many styles and sizes!

Multi colored beaded necklace.
I have so many wonderfully talented artisans consigning their work with me! Over the next few weeks I will share some of their work and stories. My first artist is Heather Vaughn. Heather is a multi talented artist and proprietor of  theblackcrane.com.  Please take a moment to visit her website. Heather found Memere's Attic through an ad I posted on craigslist, looking for artist/consignors. She drove all the way down to West Columbia from Anderson with her mom, and the most wonderful handmade jewelry and displays.  I am so lucky that she decided to take a chance on me and bring in her gorgeous jewelry for consignment.
